Hi dear friends,

Here is the third part of my Trio, called 'A Real Red Reel'. A Reel is an old English dance, related to the French gigue (jig) in 6/8.
The movement is also written in an 'odd' scale: the 8-notes scale. We all know that a normal scale has 7 different notes. The C-scale would be like this: C-D-Eb-F-F#-G#-A-B-C (or enharmonic spelling of the # and b notes). There is also a variant scale (not used here): C-C#-D#-E-F#-G-A-Bb-C. Because of the altered notes, there is a fair amount of chromaticism in themes and harmony and the chord relations can't be standard classic. So it may sound a bit weird at first, but you get used to it pretty soon.

Have a pleasant listen!
Jos
