Anyone knows how to convert these to *.gig???

I\'ve got 5 EIIIx Emu-soundfonts CDs and I really would like to convert these to *.gig.. I have CDxtract, but it\'s not compatible. What program will handle these CDs??..

    In advance I thank you!!

If it\'s sf2\'s and you run Gigastudio, you should be able to open those in the instrument editor and save them as gigs.

    Hey Worra!

Nah, had it only been so easy!.. It is, of course, in a format that isn\'t even accessible from Windows. Just like Akai and Roland..

The only program wich can read E-mu format and convert it to .GIG is Translator ( http://www.chickensys.com ). CD Xtract reads only Akai and Roland.

Thomas, I have to disagree with u. $150 is too much when u have a library of EMU CDs that average $100-250 each? I have Translator and have used it on EMU Cds.
In its latest revision #22 it has gotten a lot better. They really are improving the pgm. Besides what is your alternative? There is none right now. Good luck man, you\'ll need it.

    How about the Convertor version?

    E-CONVERTOR® - $49.95
Standalone Emu->Gigasampler translator. Includes all modern Emu formats.

Chadwick, U R right, thanx for the reminder. Chickensys recently came out with individual converters for several sample types incl. EMU. If all u want is one type this is the way to go. I have owned several samplers over the years eg. Ensoniq ASR10, Roland, Akai, and EMU.It made sense to get the full version for myself.

Just got an email from Bernard at CDXtract.

Emu support isn\'t far away for his programme either.

    Hey Dis!

Yeah, I know Translator. I just think it\'s a bit too much to pay 150 bucks for a program, when you only need this one feature.

That\'s GREAT!!.. Thanks guys!!.. I really appreciate your help!

I think I\'ll wait for a while and see if CDxtract comes up with an EMU Converter. It would be easier/cheaper since I already own the program.

By the way, don\'t get me wrong here.. I don\'t mind paying for something useful, but buying the complete version of Translator, would be like buying a car when all you need is the cigaret lighter!..

The new GigaStudio Community goes live October 1. Check out the final Beta on my own server: here. Please keep your samplesizes at a minimum for now!.
