Ravel: Le Tombeau de Couperin - complete orchestral suite

Here is the playlist for the complete 4-movement suite "Le Tombeau de Couperin".

I revised the Menuet, played it slower. Still need to do this for the Prelude and the Forlane, they sound a bit to hasty for me now.

If you want the last movement (Rigaudon) separately, here it is:

    Hope you enjoy this music!

    Things are getting tougher, now.
I'll run to listen to it!

Finally got the myspace player to work at home.

Brilliant performance as always. It always sounds the most natural when the woods and pizz strings are playing. Great dynamics and virtual conducting dude!

Thank you, Fabio; thank you, Plowking!

Now I need a bit of a rest from all that MIDI and virtual conducting

The MP3 player on Myspace is not ideal, it seems quite slow, and the MP3 compression seems to create some audio artifacts.

I did now also post my rendition of "Le Tombeau de Couperin" to the Wikipedia Page about this work:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_tombeau_de_Couperin

There, the OGG files seem subjectively to sound a bit smoother, and there appears also no delay in downloading/playing. Of course, plays there will not count towards the statistics on MySpace... but feel free to listen to the files on Wikipedia, if the MySpace causes problems.

Reinhold - You've really done us all a service - members of this Forum, and anyone online who finds this Listening Room. Your orchestral emulations are superb. They are of the quality of those early orchestral demos of GPO which made so many of us buy the Library. I can hardly imagine the kind of joy you must feel creating these recordings.

Thank you so much for the links.

    Hi Randy,

thank you very much for your kind words!
Yes, you are right, creating these music recordings brings a lot of joy, and I am very glad that with GPO I do have the tool of a full orchestra at hand.

I have many more music pieces in mind of which I want to create recordings.

(Wikipedia took the renditions of Le Tombeau de Couperin down, because due to French copyright laws, Ravel's music is still under copyright in France until 2016).

    Cheers,
    Reinhold

Setting aside the fact that Ravel's music is incredible, your rendering of the 4 movements is even more incredible. The sound seems to have so much depth to it. I am sure this project took you some time to develop it, but from what I am hearing, it was time very well spent.
Thanks for posting this. It was my pleasure to listen.
