    Car Starting Samples

    Hi,

I'm looking for some car starting samples. The thing is... I need a range of them as the 'turning over' has to be synched rhythmically to a drum score... so it has to be the kind of thing where the -rate- of the start could somehow be controlled to match the tempo.

And yeah, I can time stretch a single sample, but the deal is that it's a guy starting a car and the rate of the 'turning over' increases (as a real starter does). I need to be able to control the length of time that it 'turns over' before it 'catches'. When it catches is the downbeat of the next cue.

I dunno if that makes sense but was looking for such a lib.

I did try to do some field recording, but ya know... at least here in Seattle, it's surprisingly difficult nowadays to find an old carbureted engine to experiment with.

    TIA,

    ---JC

I always loved the sample that the Art Of Noise used for Close To The Edit- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxidefcsjDc
