Topic: Lament for Gofriller

    Talking Lament for Gofriller

There once was a VST called Gofriller
That was more than just a filler
    The sounds it could produce
Brought new heights like sauce for the goose
And was more exciting than Jackson's Thriller.

Alas, there aren't any other cello sounds
    As good as Gofriller around
One must wait with unending doom
    To compose a delightful tune
Or make use of some other library sound.

However, I hold off 'cause I know
Gary Garritan, he's the man and so
    A replacement will come
    To the delight of everyone
And will be the BEST cello sound of the show!

Here's hoping for the future GOS2 to include a marvelous Gofriller Cello. Can't wait!!!

That Cello Library was indeed outstanding. As was the Strad. It's really a pity they were on sale for so short a time - less than two years! I'm very fortunate to own both and I use them often.

I doubt there'll be another Gofriller quite like that one. We need to remember that single instrument Library cost as much as GPO! more actually. - it was large, extremely detailed, and a joy to play. I'm sure there'll be good strings in the upcoming Garritan Library, but there wouldn't be room for the instruments to have sample pools as large as the Gofriller or the Strad.

What a shame! Such a nice rhyme deserves for an adequate reward!

Lament no more for the old golden strings,

new violins and cellos this year brings,

and viola and bassss and a few other things

with velvety tones that wonderfully sings.

Thou hast made my day, O humble sir
That wonderful things do happen in a blur
For such magnificent and graceful sounds
Are all too soon about to abound
And tickle my fancy, that is for sure.

And as my dear Karen has helped me know
Our words have touched the heart of our souls
    For our sensitive side endures
'Cause we musicians are for sure
The very finest in the land for all to know.

This is possibly one of the most beautiful poems that I've ever read!!!

I am also a VERY HAPPY OWNER of both the Strat and Gofriller. If similar strings were produced by the Garritan Company, I'd by them (if my wallet permitted). Gary. . . you make WONDERFUL products AND you seem to compose great poems too!!

    Question But why?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but why were the Violin and Cello products discontinued?

to honour the great culture that has suffered devastating loss, I respond in an ages-old accepted fashion:

    Promises made, yet
    Nothing springs forth, no release,
    I sit and I wait.

    You ask, Gary responds.
    Marvelous.
