    OT: Ad banners getting me down

    (Sorry for the off topic post, don\'t where else to put this)

    Since when do I have to hit my browser\'s \"back\" button seven times to get to the previous page? A week or two?

    Please, whoever decided to have these forums work this way, stop it. It makes navigating the forums extremely frustrating.

    thanks
    - Chris

    Chris,

    Have you really thought through the implications of what you\'re saying? Do you have any idea what might be involved in changing this web page? Do you have any hard facts and figures to back up your assertions? Why should anyone listen to your petty complaining and whining? Just get over it and take it like a man.

    Peace,
    Tim

    Looks to me like messy IFRAME code is at fault. IFRAME is a less than ideal method of serving tons of banners to entice people to enter the store with a page refresh because the browser thinks it\'s loading a new page each time the IFRAME refreshes. (An IFRAME is just a mini page that can be put into any html page). So, when you hit the back button, it\'ll just reload the previous IFRAME and not the previous page since it won\'t be cached. I don\'t think Netscape works with IFRAME code, but IE does. You might be able to get by the banners by using Netscape.

    Ryan.

    Put the ad banners in a frame at the top, and the content in a frame below, this will fix the problem.

    I am having the problem too. I don\'t even use the back button for this forum anymore, I open a new window for every click.

    I\'m having that problem too. Just started a couple of days ago.

    Hey, me too! I just figured out what the problem was this morning. I was starting to get worried that my system was getting unstable.

    <whew>

    But that doesn\'t make it less annoying.
