    Hey Gary,

It's been a heck of a long time since i visited the Garritan Forum!

So it's a delight to see there's lots of good music being posted and shared.

I like parts of this piece.. I think you can really work this into something great!

    Re: Overture for america

    Thanks for listening, Dan.
This was an inspiration from the playing AMERICAN OVERTURE FOR BAND in the Community Band I play in.
I thought thru the theme during a 30 minute walk and wrote it in the same day.
I've done some minor editing & thisw is the latest(June 1sr.)

    Gary -

It seems like you have the beginnings of larger and great project! I enjoyed the 1st movement to your "Overture for America". I'm left with wanting to hear the rest of the movements as you create them. This beginning, though, is quite satisfying in its own right. I love brass ensembles!

Thanks for sharing. . . looking forward to hearing more!

    Re: Overture for america

    Thanks for listening, Ted.
It will be awhile before I can put it together.
This month I have the Navy Musicians Association Convention in San Antonio,
and next month I'm going to the Jamey Abersold wk long workshop.
I'm actually working at combining this with 2 other works for a Wind
    ensemble.
