Anechoic? Close Mic? do GPO samples have reflections.

I would like to use GPO to generate a test signal for room acoustics research. I need dry samples to properly simulate different rooms, are these samples dry?

They're not anechoic to my knowledge, but yeah, most of the sounds in GPO are very dry and close-miked. May I ask why a sine or square tone won't work?

I will be asking subjects to listen to pieces of music simulated in different rooms and report which they prefer in order to establish optimal room acoustic parameters. Hard to tell where a sine wave sounds better.

    Thanks.
