off topic: how do I find out the bpm of an audiofile ?

    Hi Guys,

sorry this is off topic, I know ... but maybe someone has an easy answer for me. I have an audiofile and would like to know the bpm this piece has. Is there a software that can do this easily or do I have to guess ? :-)

Probably a stupid question but I never needed this before ... :-)

    Thanks!

    Hey Blob,

thanks for the tip with Analog X. You´re right, the above does the opposite but I found another program that does exactly what I wanted, it´s called TapTempo and is at
    http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/taptempo.htm

    I use Cubase btw. :-)

Analog X does have quite a few useful programs :-)

    Thanks,
    Alex

oops..this app actually does the opposite to what you want..sorry (but anolog x has loads of cool free stuff anyhoo)

Do you have Logic? if so....

Import your audio file into the arrange page (ctrl+right click on any bit of space), highlight the imported audio and roughly guess how many bars(measures) long the clip is..set your loop to the amount of measures the audio is (i\'m slowly becoming non-sensical ) and press T (the default key command) in the resulting dialog choose \'Globally\'/ok then look at the tempo in your transport bar

if you don\'t have logic...never mind the above ramblings
