    Third Stream Demo

Here's my most recent excursion into the third stream.

    Third Stream Fragments

The tonal center shifts a bit, but the rhythm is straight ahead 4/4.

Here's the barebones piano sequence that I based it on.

Give it a listen if you will and let me know your thoughts on it.

    Hi Marko,

Nice to hear from you again. The first version sounds like what I've been writing for at least four of the last six years only I was trying to do something else. Where did you get my, er ah, stuff from? )

You have one of the few truly creative original musical minds. IN the class on Garritan's site currently exploring form, Prof Terry explains that it doesn't matter what or where your thoughts are coming from, only that the result is not boring.

I have a hard time staying asleep when I hear your writing. I also wish I could record instruments with the clarity you achieve.

    Marko,

Absolutely fantastic! One of the coolest pieces I have heard in a long time! It's great that you included the pieno sketch as well. Well done!

    All the very best,

Thanks Tony. The inspiration for this piece derives from Milton Babbitt's "All Set for Jazz Ensemble." a wonderfully inventive, 12 tone bop piece.

    Thanks Darren.

Wow! I absolutely loved this. And greta use of samples in such an exposed setting.

    Yeah,

Marko and Pingu, you guys are of the same mind. I only worry about you both getting so far into the experimentation that you do not spend the majority of your time composing. That would be a great loss to me and others like me who are anticipating some very fresh and competent work from you both.

    Best to you,

    tony

    Thanks Pingu.

    Tony,

I will keep the experimentation inside a moderate margin.
