    UNFORGETTABLE - JABB & a little GPO

As requested here is a soulless, expressionless, midifile created by me in the early 90's and rendered here using JABB and GPO strings with no real changes other than the cc's for vibrato, etc.

    Unforgettable

here below is the 50's radio version in mono and bowing to the pressure of people wanting some 60Hz hum, and crackling here is the update

This is a nice little rendition of a favorite of mine. The reverb is a little much for me on the soloists, but that's subjective. I felt the first and last melody section (trumpet, I think) need to be out front a little more. Overall, though (at least on my system) it comes across with a sound reminiscent of a 50's radio broadcast.

Thanks for sharing this wonderful, old piece. The backup parts were tasteful and the strings were a nice touch!

I've added a radio version Rich, and quietened the reverb on the main version

As someone actually alive in the 50's who grew
up with this music playing all the time...

    Ray, you aced it.

Just uncanny -- I've got an old American Bosch
cabinet radio in the next room. I half expect
the thing to click on and start playing along... lol.

    Great job on this.

    David, you silver tongued person,
Rich set a challenge when he mentioned the radio back then so I couldn't resist remixing in mono pulling in the bandwidth to between 200Hz - 4Khz
I hope somebody listens to the stereo version Hi!!!!

    Thanks again for listening

    Ray

We also had a radio like the one you describe

    Ray,

The radio version is great. Now add some authentic scratch and hiss to it and you are golden! Got to get Gary G to add some background noises into the next library!

Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

Sounds like the radio station my mom used to put on at about 6:30 am to get all of us up and ready for school back in the 1950's when we were kids. This is uncanny great repro on this sound. A few scratches, clicks and pops and you would think you've gone back in time. My hats off to you. Great memories on this one. Thanks
