I'd second that. I use the X-Sample harp a lot - particularly for it's pedal buzzes, but the tone of it's straight notes is also great. I also really like the Gigaharp from Gary, but I'm not sure if you can still get that.

    Re: Best Harp Library?

    The x-sample harp sounds nice.

    Pingu,

Do you know of a way to get the same kind of quick stops to notes ( as in the demo of the x-sample harp ) using gigaharp?

I have gigaharp and the tone and sensitivity of it is wonderful, but I don't have much experience with it, and after hearing the x-sample demo it seems that the stops should be doable for any harp.

Also, the glissando patches and programming to do glissando in any key in Gary's gigaharp are awesome!

    Thanks!

Also, search www.froogle.com for the term gigaharp and then sort by lowest price.

    Hey,

Have a look at the SONiVOX Symphonic Harp :
    http://www.sonivoxmi.com/ProductDetail.asp?Item=CDHarp

Format is GigaStudio3, so it can be used in GVI or GigaStudio3.

By the way I hope to see a Kontakt2 version landing soon...

I'm a tiny bit surprised that no one's mentioned the Vienna harp yet.

    You too?

The one by Sonivox sure sound sweet! ...on the demos that is. X-Samples has a really nice tone but is those not have nearly as much articulation as VSL, Sonivox...

    Hello,
the xsample concert harp has all articulations you need to play (normal pluck 3 velocities / harmonics / quick stop notes / pedal buzz). Thanks, that you like our concert harp.

Wow! I thought X-Samples was no more! I'm glad to see it's not. Can you tell us what's next?

And i agree that it has as all the articulation that someone need.

    Thanks!

    Re: Best Harp Library?

    Hello,
thanks for your interest. Yes, we are working on a Kontakt 2 version
of the Xsample library. This version includes looped natural vibrato
of the solo strings, all samples are in optimized 16bit with no noise-
floor, all articulations in one instrument-file (keyswitching and/or
    controllerswitching), expressive-dynamic-fades, great variety of
    articulations and easily to play.

    Best,

    Hans Josef
