    "Friends"

    Y'all All,

This is a simple thing that I wrote some time ago. It features the original GPO viola and cello.

    This is my "Friends".

...and here is my solo GPO cello work, "Solitude".

I like this larry. On my earphones at work, the instruments seemed just a little to panned.(cello to far to the right and violin to far to the left). Because of that, they did not blend as well as I think they could. Nice piece.
    Thanks, -Jay

Thanks for giving it a listen.

The cello player and the viola dude don't like each other. They are sitting far apart.

I might put these two fellows a little closer together,
perhaps... but Friends is quite a handsome duet.
Sustaining interest and variation, well done -- not
always easy with just two peas in the pod.

That opening on Solitude is a fine piece of writing,
Larry; I enjoyed that especially, as I did the whole
piece. There's an understated feel to this piece
that I think suits its subject well... a mood you can't
quite put a word to; yet you know you've experienced
    it yourself.

    My best,

They were both very pleasant pieces to listen to.

Now I know that Mr Larry knows better than to pan that wide, so I'm thinking maybe he was making a metaphorical statement about friends.

Yeah, that's what I was doin'. I was making a metaphorical statement. That's it.

Naaah. I just screwed up on the panning, Mr. Phil.

Thank you for listening to this screw up.
