    Hello, Fredrik!

I'm quite fond of Bruckner. I guess it shows... lol!

But no!... very soon we discover that Sosnowski's cosmic language has brought us somewhere else... the Andromeda galaxy far away!

The recurring and narrative trombone is adding to the tension accompanying us on our way through time and space! I'm glad to hear well-placed french horn comments in several places... answered by your trumpet glissandis -- your special fingerprint!

Exactly 14 minutes into the piece -- believe it or not! Yes, I have grasped it now, and I love it -- is a quote from Brahms' Symphony No. 1. The high-octavated strings with the characteristic timpani marking of the tempo... a quote from one master to the other!
There are about a dozen "quotations" in this piece.
An interesting coincidence of process. Often, when
developing thematic material of my own, I find I've
independently arrived at the same place a prior
writer has. It fascinates me that this occurs, having
started from a completely different point...

The trumpet takes over now to announce that we are going to land soon...the classical theme is restated one last time now... We are landing on earth... Great, David!

    Fred
Many thanks for the kind words and interesting
insights, my friend -- and also for taking the time
to listen to this rather longer piece!

    All my best,

A masterful, A-One, world class professional work, aw h---, just double ditto to what has already been said. I believe this is the first time I've heard the trumpet used in the upper register, as you did, in this 'genre'.
    I've taken some resistance on those trumpet parts, Steve;
but I know they can do it. I see no reason not to use the
same capabilities of the instrument that Jazz players
    achieve all the time...

    A "star" for your crown.

    Steve
Coming from a man of your experience and ability, Steve,
your kind comments mean a great deal to me.

    Thank you!

    My best,

May I add a strong "Amen, to that?"

    Amen, indeed!

Especially with this younger crop coming along, Steve:
so many of them -- their technical skills are nothing
    short of astonishing.

Twenty years from now when they're sitting in first
chairs or standing at the podium, I expect they'll be
quite open to challenges beyond what the standard
    repertoire presently provides!

    My best,
