    "Dance" (an unlikely duo)

    Y'all,

I wrote "Dance" this morning. It is a duo for the unlikely combination of flute and tuba. This is a rather difficult compositional proposition because of the big differences in the timbres, ranges and performance methods for the two instruments.

    Both are GPO.

as I said before the server went down.....

This should be the soundtrack of another episode of the three "B's"

The Baroque Beautiful and the Beast.
    Wonderful thinking and music.

    Re: "Dance" (an unlikely duo)

Back in college, we had one fellow who wrote nothing
but flute-and-tuba pieces. I forget his name, which
is perhaps a blessing, as he wasn't very good at it... lol.

On the other hand, there's this unforgettable Alexander
fellow, who is quite good at it.

Nice challenge and well met, Larry; getting these two
instruments to get along so well is a fine hat-trick!

    My best,

    David
