Luna's Dance... now with 2.5 times as much everything...

I have been working feverishly on this "Eastern Europe meets the Middle East" piece, Luna's Dance, (in the paltry few hours that 'real work' permits), and have more-or-less-completed a second section which focuses more on the "Eastern European" side of things...

Something different-but-musically-grand will happen after this point, although I don't yet know what it is...

The sounds, as before, are culled from a wide range of libs.

As always, I listen to it on three different setups at home (studio monitors, computer speakers and home stereo) and hear three completely different pieces... [shakes head].....

I have no idea what you will hear, but would appreciate any feedback, comments, &c.

It's the first piece at http://alanb.org/music.shtml

    Thanks!!

You are singularly and collectively forewarned: There is some very interesting Meshuggah-style "technical death metal" in the works... stay (down-)tuned.........

Great style. The clarinet is remarkable.

It's a great direction to pursue. It comes across quite clearly and well balanced through these Apple computer speakers. I would have to download and record it to try iot on my DAW speakers.

Thanks to both of you... for listening and for commenting...

After a lifetime of listening to so many different styles of music, my recent foray into sample-based composition has for the first time allowed me to (at least try to) blend everything that I hear in my head together -- different styles, different cultures, different instruments...

...so, I'm learning how these different styles (and cultures, and instruments) fit together (or don't) right now, bit by bit, as I go along.

I've played keys/drums/P-bass for many years, but, until last month, I had only listened to a Bb clarinet, without ever having to worry about the mechanics of constructing the Bb clarinet solo that I can play so easily in my mind...

    It's both exciting and overwhelming!!

Love this, the two styles work fantastically well together I also love the clarinet, but the swooping strings are my favorite!
