    Helen's Theme (jabb)

This, is the first self-written, full length composition I, have presented to this forum. It reflects the easy going nature of my partner in life, my wife.

All instruments provided by the wonderful Garritan Jazz & Big Band.

re-mixed Friday 9th February 2007, using GPO Ambience Jazz Club 1 setting as a send / return effect with increased Decay time to 1564ms processing individual instruments and sections depending on position and frequency range in the band.

Fantastic piece Ray, it's sounding very realistic IMO. Love all the trumpet bits.
Can't wait to hear more of your work.

    Thanks Kev,

There's quite a bit of adjusting cc settings on the instruments in this piece.

AHhh yeah, the wonderful JABB program used WOnderfully well--great combo.

Listening again as I type this brief but heart felt note of appreciation.

Your wife must be very touched.

    Oooh that's good, Ray!

It is wonderful how people catch the real sound of a Big Band and are able to translate that into computer processes. Congratulations!!

Thanks Randy, David, and my name sake Raymond, for your kind observations.
I had fun with this piece but I'm not sure any band leader would be happy with these musicians. Apart from the trio sax section and the muted trumpets behaving themselves, every other musician is all over the place doing their own thing. I find it difficult not to think of each band member as a soloist.

A happy piece. I love the 'country' feel of this. Nice nice nice trumpet work. What instrumentation did you use? I especially like the ryhthm backup. Nice percussion writting.
