To enthuse the students, simply teach the tenor players how to play the lowest note as loud as possible. None of the other notes or dynamics on the instrument will give as much entertainment to the kids.

The lowest note thing does work on Tenor and lower. Trust me, I'm a Bari player. I can't survive without the low A on my bari! All notes must be taken down to the lowest playable octave.

Unfortuantely for me, my music for District Jazz has me playing high E's.

Heheh, I'm a tenor player and a high school music teacher, and I STILL get the giggles when I honk a low Bb behind some kid's head when they're not expecting it.

I've been doing this since I was in 5th grade.

    I should probably grow up.
