    violin harp duet

    The strad is used here entirely in notation with mouse graphic edits, so may interest non keyboard playing brothers and sisters. The method sounds plodding, but in fact was quite a pleasure. The method worked better than I hoped and I recommend it. There is still a steep learning curve on mastering the expression controls, but Fabio's tutorial was a great help.http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...?bandID=342382

    Dermod,

    Very nice use of the Strad - what a great tool it is. It did sound a little distant, though. For such an intimate ensemble - and piece, as well, I think it might benefit from adjusting the reverb/ambience to a smaller space. Just a suggestion, though, as the piece is really very lovely.

    Thanks for posting.

    Very nice work, Dermod!

    The extra work involving articulation adjustments really show through.
    You've created a very realistic string performance.

    I might agree with Ron on the reverb.. especially for the harp... perhaps a touch high.

    Well done!

    dermod, excellent writing and render. It reminds me of Debussy's chamber works a bit, really like it...

    Thanks for the comments. Reverb used was Ambience Concert Hall 1, probably too high. The allusion to Debussy was nice, a master of lucid impressionism in which form always serves mood. Definitely a way to go.

    Satisfying writing in this reflective study, Dermod;
    and fine use of the Strad.

    I might suggest just slightly less reverb, to compliment
    and bring out the clarity of the melodic work.

    My best,
