    JABB Neal Hefti

Rendering a jazz arrangement where every single note is written turned out to be a tougher job then I thought at first. This plain blues in Db was composed and arranged by the great Neal Hefti. Very simple in conception and not an innovative writing but difficult to render. I wonder why I look for trouble sometimes... anyway if you want to listen here it is

PS the tenor solo is also written by Hefti

This sounds great! The sax solo was really nicely done. I've ordered JABB and I'm looking forward to getting it more after hearing this.

    Nice work Roberto.

Your interpretation of this arrangement is different to what I am used to - mostly tempo related, but also the "in your face" factor of the tutti sections - but a fine rendition none the less.

It's good to hear someone else render some "proper" big band charts

Richard, I must admit I never heard this arrangement before. I wanted to try a big band chart and found this place online to purchase pdf versions of big band scores, saw the name of Hefti and that was it. Can you recommend a recorded version of it?

    thanks

Yeah! Way to go, Rob! I enjoyed the listen.

The bass didn't come through strongly enough. (I'm biased.)

Thanks for sharing this with us.
