    While composers in some cases were paid reproduction royalties for videotapes in the late 1970s and early 1980s, studios have refused to pay composers these royalties since the mid-1980s.
    Doh!

    Clearly, composers have a lot of bargaining to do. Hoping that the move to video downloads will be the thing that ushers in a new era of composer royalties is fantasy.
