2nd attempt at Slouching Towards Bethlehem

Here's a new attempt at a piece I posted a couple of weeks ago. I think this one is better although I'm not completely happy with it. This is the first time I've really tried to use the GPO brass and struggled a little to get it to sound right in the overall mix. Anyway, have a listen. Any comments are appreciated.

Clark, some fascinating fusion work in this, in the opening.

And then the richly emotive, beautifully done writing in the
next, gentler section of the work: there's some excellent, very
    refined composition in this.

And then a return to the fusion concepts (which, to my ear,
work wonderfully -- there's some highly skilled, incredibly
    impactful writing in this segment).

I think my question, here, is whether that second, more
traditional section, isn't another piece entirely. Is it good
writing? Absolutely! But to my ear, it seems to depart in
sense and style so much from what precedes and follows it,
that it might better be made an independent entity, or
    perhaps a related movement.

This is of course only my sense of the piece; and whatever
you decide, you're quite definitely walking a potentially
highly rewarding path with this style. I'm very much looking
    forward to more...

    My best,

Thanks David for the nice comments you made. I agree that the middle section would probably work better as another movement. I still consider this to be in the sketching stage and will likely try and develop it further. I wanted to finish it in it's current form for now though knowing that I will come back to it later on. Thanks again.

    Clark,

Very interesting fusion work, combinations of musical ideas with varying mix of instruments. Really keeps thinks moving along and interesting.
