Sequencing with Stylus RMX using Multi?

I have a question - When I'm sequencing(using DP) in RMX and have a multi setup, how would I work with drumloops that have several different variations. In other words, let's say I'm working with Backbeat, and I'm trying to build up a drum part uisng different drum patterns within a suite in Backbeat.

Every time I change to a new pattern, I'm assuming i will need to drag the
new pattern to a new midi track in DP. This equates to using a new part in Stylus RMX. Every fill and variation will use up a new part. With only 8 parts available in RMX, what is the workaround once I've used up all 8 parts. Do I have to record that section (all 8 parts) onto an audio track in DP to free up
the multi and then start again with part 1-8 etc?

    Thanks,

    Tom

you can put each part in RMX into groove menu midi mode.
that way you have all the elements in a suite in one part and its pretty easy to build a song that way.

    Hans:

Thanks for your response. I know about the suites, but what happens after you use up 8 parts. I posted on Unicornation and most everyone suggests to open another instance of Stylus RMX in DP.

    Thanks,

What the MIDI Modes tutorial video please....it shows exactly how to do what you want to do on a single part in Groove Menu MIDI Mode.

You definitely DO NOT need more than a single part to put together a track with Backbeat.

Bu the key is to switch to Groove Menu MIDI Mode. not Slice Menu MIDI Mode.

    Hello Eric:

Sorry for the confusion. I was using the groove mode but changing parts for each fill, and variation in Backbeat. I guess I don't need to do this.
Could you please point me in the right direction to the Midi Mode video?
I can't seem to find it. Is it under a different heading?

    Thanks,

    Tom

MIDI Modes video tutorial should be on the tutorial disc included in your package.

    Thanks Eric:

I will check it out. I bought the program about a year ago and
forgot a lot of things from not using much over the past year.
