Yippee! I'll run right out and get it - NOT!!

You are working with a second tier product - just thought I'd let you sonar users know.

Haven't had a good fight on this forum for awhile. Let's have at it!

Sonar vs. Garage Band, that's pretty much the class it is in.
Or maybe Sonar vs. Acid and Sound Forge... something like that.

You can put down sonar 5 producer all you want, but I managed to score 11 scores in less than three months with no less than 5 virtual instruments and several sample collections as well as guitars, vocals, percussion and more per production. No crashes. No problems. Everything worked great. The 64 bit bandwidth allowed for incredible sound quality and virtually no mastering was even needed.

My buddy who owns a very expensive supposedly state-of-the-art macintosh pro tools setup, called me the other day bitching and moaning because it kept crashing on him and couldn't get anything done.

Another person I know uses Nuendo and also was having problems with vst instruments crashing on him as well.

Meanwhile, my client is more than thrilled and I will get paid nicely.

You can keep everything else, I'm sticking with Sonar and my reliable Windows XP box.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Maybe not nearly as integrated and full featured as Samplitude/Sequoia, but Sonar's 64-bit mixing engine sure is sweet. And Sonar 5.0.1 was able to handle 34 or so 96k/24-bit stereo tracks on the fly with my little 2.8 ghz p4... wonder if they've upped it again.
