Need a theremin sample and other creepy but not to scary sounds

I am actually looking for some scary sounds that would be scary but not make kids in the audience freak out. Creepy with a touch of funny, anyone have some suggestions?

Also of course looking for a good theremin sample.

    thanks!

Aimosphere has a great Theremin. I recently used it for music for a "Dark Shadows" tribute (live) and the fans went crazy when they heard it.

Have you got a good piano sample library or a module with a decent piano sound on it?.

If so, give the whole instrument a slower attack and the modulation wheel a decent push (LFO pitch vibrato set to a moderate to fast rate). I've used the effect quite a lot.

One quick and dirty theremin idea is to grab a sine wave, loop it, import to your sampler, add a little pitch LFO, and drence with reverb. Og course you need some kind of portamento control. If you're using giga there's an iMidi rule you can apply (24 bit samples only). Anything in the vintage kinda sci-fi sort of style is really cool if you apply a light tube or tape distortion, with the reverb before this in the signal chain. Makes for a cool lo-fi, ambient mics-straight-to-tape sort of sound.

I have a gig file, if you're interested. Just drop me a pm.

Yeah, or just use a soft-synth with those settings... (or heck, a real one!)
