    Upright bass?

    Hi!

I'm looking for an upright bass (contrabass, jazz style most probably), sample or vst intrument, whichever I don't mind. I do need it to be good though.

Woud love to have a download option, as I'm in a real hurry (as always...), but then again an European distributor will do.

Any ideas, where I could get one?

Spectrasonic's Trilogy has great upright jazz basses but it is not downloadable.

Sonir Reality has a download section that might help. The prices are certainly reasonable. Here is the link to their downloadable basses:

    Re: Upright bass?

    Thank you for your recomendations...

I'm probably a little thick (or just ignorant), but what exactly is Sampletank? I reckon it must be a sampler, and since I don't have a smaple I can't use most of the sounds in the above site, or am I wrong?

Either way some downloadable sounds look extra nice Thanks

    Re: Upright bass?

not too bad is the upright from wizoosounds - though pretty limited in articulations - but direct download.

Also in YellowTools Majestic there is a nice upright .....

    hope that helps

if you have GigaStudio you should definitely check out Larry Seyer's Upright bass... if you don't I'd probably vote for Spetrasonics Trilogy. If you have a soundfont player there are a couple of free upright bass soundfonts that are really nice (not on a par with the others listed, but for free they are remarkable!)

I heartily second the Larry Seyer Upright Acoustic Bass library for GigaStudio:

I've finished a minute-long "acoustic jazz piano trio" demo using it, which will soon be made available for public audition...

    Larry, Larry, Larry.......

I know and understand your reasoning for using Gigastudio; I've read your FAQ. But that said, other developers find ways of releasing great sounding libraries for K2, ESX24 and other formats that seem to work just fine. I know that this won't be the first time you've heard this; nor will it be the last: Please consider releasing your sample libraries on more widely used formats. I know that they may not live up to the programming you're accostomed to in Giga, but most folks would be willing to sacrifice some of the programming features in Giga to be able to use them in their softsampler of choice. We'd benefit from being able to use your samples, and you'd benefit from the widely expanded user base.

    End of rant.

    Journeyman, Journeyman, Journeyman,

Yes, I know. All in good time. Patience please.

In the mean time, Giga format for my library, or Trilogy...

Also the Bardstown bass sounds great too...

For those who are using Giga 3 and want a little help, pick up our latest release here:
