    Polka Dots (Sirulnikoff)

    Hi,

    My latest Garritan effort.

I hope the reverb is right.

    Jack,

Very cool work. This is a really study of how to keep the listener on his toes, guess what might come next. Great use of the GPO to this rendering!

Yes I think the used reverb works well here.

A delightfully upbeat piece, Jack -- with some
nice strokes on orchestation, dialogue, and
    percussion. Most enjoyable!

I might suggest perhaps a little further review
of tempi and dynamics -- I think you
could bring a little more impact to the piece's
engaging sense of being just on the edge of
    control in places.

    .
I made a few changes - slightly slower tempo in the 'A' section. Tried to bring out more detail. I hope it's better. Hard to tell.

    What a fun piece!

Borderline bizarre! ..I really enjoyed this.

Definitely a piece worth fine tuning.. I might explore areas in reverb mixing.

    Nice work!

    Re: Polka Dots (Sirulnikoff)

    Thanks for your comments, Jeff.

It's interesting - in the first version I posted, the reverb (Recital Hall 2)seemed to be okay. For this version, I played with the Wet and Dry levers, mainly to bring out the woodblock, and it ended up drier - (dry -13.2dB, wet -3.4dB).

Is there any information anywhere on Ambience ?
Would normally most of the adjustments to the presets involve those (Wet and Dry) levers ?
I generally work on the file without Ambience, and then try to apply it later. Is this the right sequence ?

    Thanks for any help.
