    Joshua

Here's a GPO piano piece written by my son Joshua. I've just introduced him to GPO. He was rushed into hospital last night - but he's in safe hands and is making good progress. The first thing he asked for when we got there was his iPod and keyboard :-) It will cheer him up to know I've posted this especially as we had such good fun working together with GPO on Saturday morning. And I'm proud to share this as he's a very gifted young lad.

    Hi Graham,

First, I hope that Josh is doing fine.

It is a nice piece (how old is Josh?).

I wish you, Josh and your family all the best.

    Regards,

    Aleksandar

    Thanks Aleksander,

Josh will be having a few tests this morning. The doctors think it's a stomach ulcer which should clear up quite quickly. But it was a shock to see him all wired up and having a blood transfusion. He's 19 although I think he wrote this piece a few years ago. He loves his music and was thrilled to hear this played back on the GPO Steinway rather than the awful patches he was using before!

    Regards, Graham

    Re: Joshua

There is genuine ability at work in this young man,
Graham. It is my sincere hope that you do all that
    you may to foster it.

In this, excellent use of line; a natural and intuitive
flow; astute handling of progression and cadence,
and a clear understanding of and gift for thematics.

May I wish Joshua a full and rapid recovery; and it
would be my distinct pleasure to hear more of his
    work.

    With my best,

    David

Thank you David, your encouragement and good wishes are much appeciated. Josh has bedside Internet access via some clever device so I'll see if we can get him logged on when we visit later.

He's making good progress and should be able to come home in a few days.

    Kind regards, Graham
