    Interface of the Future

Imagine if you had this interface for your creative work (of any kind):

    Re: Interface of the Future

Fascinating. I always want to form electronic sounds with two hands.

[Very OT: As technology goes forward maybe there will be some time to take care about nutrition again. I have not seen any music technology demonstration video lately (be it NAMM or whatever) where the presenter did not have acid regurgitation. No pun intended, just an observance ... ]

    Thanks to share this.

    Impressive.

I don’t really get how the image shows on the tablet. Retroprojection ?

That's absolutely incredible- like Star Trek: The Next Generation finally come to life! I can't wait to get my hands on one of those. Imagine drawing in controller changes, editing audio, and mixing on the virtual mixing board with that kind of interface- it's an audio engineer's wet dream.

    Re: Interface of the Future

Closest thing to the "Minority Report" interface I have seen. I noticed it was gesture-based. I bet this will be in big research companies within two years, followed closely by universities. As the price per unit drops and more engineers develop it, who knows what we will see.

    Re: Interface of the Future

In fact, some multi-touch screen patents already exist.

I found this one, from musicians especially :

But it’s always the same problem : the time, the money, and the market to achieve it...

The Interface of the future is already here (kinda). Check out the Lemur:

    Re: Interface of the Future

Well... It’s just the patent I quoted !

    Thanks for the link, Hint.

( So I correct my remark, this one is not buried in the WIPO anymore...)

    2000 bucks... not cheap.

But I’m very surprised. (Apparently, it’s on the market only since July...)

    Their site looks pretty good.

    It’s quite promising.
