    VSL demo- Bozza's New Orleans

Here is an excerpt of Eugene Bozza's New Orleans for piano and bass trombone. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the VSL bass trombone handled this jazzed flavored, "Gershwin-esque" work. I think it's quite a realistic performance. Please feel free to share your reactions.

    Best,
    Jay

Fun piece - and a brilliant rendition, Jay.

What's your kind of "methodology" in recording it (if you don't mind my asking).
Or... to what extent is it played live once the VI is set up?
How much editing before? How much after?
    ..that sort of thing.

    It's brilliant Jay.

Indeed the rendering is magnificent... The VSL trombone sounds fantastic... The piano, if I may ask? VSL? Live? Something else?

Thanks everyone for listening and posting a comment.

Jibrish-- I do very little "live" playing. This is just my way of working and not a limitation of VSL. I play in the parts (or step record if the section is too difficult for me) and then I tweak the articulations, dynamics, tempos, mix, etc. in the sequencer.

Nicolas-- The piano is just an experimental sample set and will not be available in its current form.

    Best,
    Jay

This sounds very good indeed Jay. Nice job and a good listen!

I'd love to hear that trombone in a traditional jazz setting too
