    Violimba

I thought of trying to create a library using my violimba. Would anyone be interested?

It was a new one for me, too. When I googled it, here's the first thing that came up.

    Question Re: Violimba

The first reaction is: ok it's just a joke!

If it isn't, I don't find a good use for sounds very close to a synth!

To answer the question. Yes - I would surely be interested. Seems I'm the only one though

    Re: Violimba

From a marketing sense, I realyl don't see the point, as Idon't hink that there are lot's of people who need this.

BUT, as an idea to offer to the community, as free, or cheap, I find it fascinating. Realistc and sonic-wise brillaint fx...

But yes, I would tend to agree that it would be best not to have a "library" per se, but something else... Maybe some wav files? Something simmilar... Dunno...

Still it is highyl original so don't discard the idea yet...

    Re: Violimba

Folks here are, apparently, not fans of Robert Rutman or the Nono Orchestra (the sound is very reminiscent of their delicious Steel Cello musics)...

I think it's a beautiful sound... Aleatory? I'd say Aeolian is more like it. And it is far more organic than synthy...

It wasn't clear whether you were intending to create a library for sale, or for sharing... I don't know whether I would need to purchase a library of violimba sounds, as I'm pretty good at creating my own aethereal, incorporeal drones, but I'll be happy to beta-test any .gig files that you may create, or bask in gratitude for acts of largesse that may follow the library's development...

Hi guys, I was a bit surprised to see this thread resurface. Sorry, I haven't got any further as yet. What with the new school term (I teach high school) and assignments for my MA, my wife's dad dying, and trying to finish off the programming of my boomwhackers, I haven't had a lot of time. One day though....
