    Sample breakup

I recently started getting samples breaking up. The CPU meter jumps up and down, when hold a chord. Worse with large sample and effected badly when using Convolution reverb.
I have a relatively new computer, custom built. ASUS MB, 3.2 GHz, 2 Gigs of ram.
The computer only has a few programs on it and one's that do not tend to interact badly with Giga.
If any one has had this problem and solved it, I appreciate the input.
    Thanks

Happened to me last night. I had my soundcard's DMA buffers set too low. Try raising yours.
