    please go to this adress:
    http://www.musicae.fr/audioFiles/255.mp3
(it's my printer web site) Sorry if all this site is not translated into english, to access to my page clic "movie scene" in the right of the window, and you'll find a Mp3 demo (witch as been made with GPO naturally)

Laurent, may I suggest a more direct link to the
    piece, perhaps?

I consider it a personal shortcoming of egregious
proportions; but, alas, I do not speak French...

    With best regards,

    Hi David,
I wish I could do that, but when I copy the link from the page where you can ear the Mp3, it always go on the home page.
    i can perhaps help you:
    - when you clic on my link, you have in the top at right of the window a small case where "recherche par mot clé" is written.
    tape "movie scenes" and Ok.
    - then you'll access to the page of all of my work. (For now, there's just one piece but other pieces will come these next days)
    - Clic on the banner where "movie scene" is written, you'll find all the informations about my piece and specially the Mp3

hopping this will help (and you'll anderstand my bad english...)

    best regards

    Laurent,

Here is the link to the .mp3 file:

May I suggest you edit your first post, and include this.

I am listening now; and I will comment after listening.

    Edit:

Laurent, some positively excellent writing for brass
in these! I am so pleased to have had a chance to
    hear. Beautifully done, my friend!

    Bravo!

    Laurent,

WOW!! Great writing for brass. I love writing for brass and this is a great example of how it should be done.

    Yes, great music!

I wish there was less citation. Once I hear one I am not sure about how much of the rest is original.

    EDIT
The more I hear the more I think it is all citation, right? I thought it would have been your own music "in movie style" or "for movies".

Perhaps put the word "arrangement" somewhere?

    Hi Hannes,

Except "jingle bells" witch is a private joke, all this piece is an original writting. The fact that it's written in a soundtrack style may let you think that I've used citations...
If so, let me know witch ones... and if it's true, I sincerely didn't do it on purpose.

    Laurent,

There are times here when your writing strongly suggests to me the brass music of Sir Malcom Arnold - a good thing in my opinion - I've always loved his approach. Other times, it's completely different. Whatever, this is very enjoyable writing. Nice work.

    Re: new piece for brass

the very beginning certainly does remind me of Arnold (for me the most underrated and naturally gifted living composer and it was Tom's comment that made me actually listen in the first place) and possibly some of the more chorale-like passages a little too though Arnold's harmony is more piquant. Overall, one of the more stimulating and refreshing pieces i've heard recently -thanks for posting it!

just read that Malcolm Arnold died today. A very sad day for the musical world. Perhaps finally works which are hardly or not at all available will be reissued or better still, get new recordings.

    Laurent,
Splendid writing for brass. Your handling of the brass samples and rendering is as masterful as the composition. Thanks for posting.
