    "MegaWaltz"

    ¾ Lovers,

Here is my “MegaWaltz”. All of the instruments (strings, pizzicato strings, flute, oboe and horns) are GPO.

The violins begin the initial melody. The cellos take the lead in their upper register at 00:40. The flute enters with the melody at 01:24 and is joined by the oboe dude with some harmony at 01:48. (Even though they are very different in their methods of sound propagation, flutes and oboes blend pretty well in a case like this.) The violins then return at 02:13. Flute and strings combine their voices at 03:56 and the oboe chimes in at 04:14.

I wrote a simple chordal accompaniment for the horns but they add greatly to the overall sonority, in my opinion. See what you think.

I blended one Gagliano solo violin with the violin section for the purpose of enhancement.

    The length is 05:43.

I hope that you like it.

    My best to all,

    Larry

Local time (Holland) is 22:49 hrs. Saturday evening, and then such a Waltz!
Nice melody, good mixing of instruments and a marvellous reverb.
I think that I go to bed with this melody in my head.

    Thanks

    Raymond

This was a lot of work. This is a bump.

Gorgeous job on this, Larry -- the work shows.

One thought I had was perhaps relieving the
string texture a bit with more use of pizzicato?

    Much enjoyed!

    Re: "MegaWaltz"

I have rewritten my "MegaWaltz" and added pizzicato strings as per the above suggestion by David Sosnowski. Thanks, Mr. Dave.

The link is the same as in my first message.

I must say I like that, Larry; it introduces a lightness
and more contrast that, to me, make an already good
    piece stronger. Nice work!

Don't thank me, Larry... lol -- I'm just kibbitzing.
