    Asleep In The Deep

    In keeping with the spirit of several recent Arban Studies postings, I dug out an arrangement of mine that I wrote at the request of a long time friend and band conductor, the late William Root. He asked me if I would write an arrangement of a piece, "A Sleep In The Deep", a tuba study from the old Rubank Series, for the high school band that his daughter directs. He sent the piano accompaniment copy to me and I produced the work that was subsequently performed that spring. It was a big hit with the band

    The score was created using Finale 2006, and the output libraries used were GPO and JABB (for the saxophones).

    I wonder if there's a player on earth who hasn't been by
    The Rubank Method... lol.

    Aside from the fact that I'm a sucker for tuba pieces;
    nice job on the arrangement of this, Gary!

    Yeah an oldie but a goodie. It was fun to write it and the band did a good job performing it. The GPO solo tuba 1 really sounds like it belongs with this piece too
