    Tascam GVI

GVI will be the end for the G3 librarys!
This is not a good news that GVI librarys will not work at G3.
Noboddy will do some new G3, G4 stuff.

Can you clarify what you mean by this?

How did you find out? What is the source of the information?

    Re: Tascam GVI

I find it in the here in the Gigaforum:

    Here is what I understand.

    1. If you buy GVI you can use your old GS libraries with it. So regarding your comments, you are fine.

    2. New stand-alone libraries that use the GVI player can only be used from that stand-alone player. You won't be able to load a stand-alone GVI library into Gigastudio. And you don't have to have GVI or GS to use the library.

Thus my question, assuming we offer a GVI stand-alone version of a library, do we still need to offer a Gigastudio version apart from that?

It is a bit irresponsible to be making such hysterical accusations, even before the product has been released, don't you think?

Anyway, if you had read through the rest of the NSS discussion on the topic, you would have seen several suggestions as to reasons why GVI will *not* render the full-blown GS3/4 obsolete -- to developers or users. This discussion includes both earlier and later posts in the same thread from which you quoted:

Alan is right. We can only speculate what will happen. Until then one can only sit tight and wait.
