    Smile Waltz of Pegasus

Hmmm... I have no idea where this came from. After lunch I decided to write a short waltz... eight hours later, this was the result. (EIGHT HOURS?! Where did all the time go? Needless to say, my dinner got cold.)

The music reminded me of flying, so I named it "Waltz of Pegasus" ... instruments include: piccolo, flute, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, trumpet, tuba, harp, celesta, glockenspiel, percussion stuff, and strings.

    Here it is: http://wizardwalk.com/music2/Waltz_Of_Pegasus.mp3

Funny how sometimes music like this will just flow out, and other times all you get is gobbledy-gook.

Hope you enjoy flying with Pegasus.

Oh, was that corny to say?

    Wonderful work, Sean.

Only eight hours? Geez, I need to get some of what you're drinking

It's got one of those catchy melodies which works very effectively in any dramatic setting. A 700-pound winged horse flying through the clouds is no exception.

The dynamic and textural contrasts you've got between the lighter harp and mallets, the interjecting woodwind phrases, and the more intense brass and strings give the piece very good balance. The horn and trumpet interplay over the string ostinato is my favorite part--it's one heck of a climax!

Thank you for listening and for your kind words! I am of course very pleased with how the climax turned out, it's gotta be my favorite part as well.

    Sean,

Very nice work, very clean and to the point. It has a more playful representation of the Pegasus than many others have used in the past. Your scoring and rendering is really well done.

    Thanks for sharing it.

Eight hours? It'd take me a month... rofl.

Beautifully done, Sean... a playful whimsy to it and
many a toss of fairy dust across the stars in it that
give it a delightful flavor and ambience.

The conveyance of innocent wonder in it is very
    effectively done... delightful piece!

Thanks for listening, David! I love the way you put that... "conveyance of innocent wonder"... mind if I quote you on my website (with a link to your site, of course)?

LOL... yes, you can quote me, of course, Sean.

And links are always appreciated. I've been planning to put
up a links page on my own site, too; but just have not had
the time to get to it.
