    Pro Tools 6.8

Have been working in Pro Tools 6.8 for about 9 or 10 months now and have made some progress along the learning curve. (Toshiba laptop, Windows XP, M-Box interface, external hard drive)

Question: I am comfortable with 6.8 but am thinking of upgrading to the 7.0 version or beyond. Got the idea from somehere (can't remember where) that I would have to start using a security key that came with the software. In other words, I'd have to insert a security key in my laptop when I wanted to use the software. is this right or amI completely mad here. Are there really important reasons for going through the upgrade, or should I just leave well enough alone for now. And lastly, are there reasons why I might want to not upgrade now?

Logic 7.0 is Mac only. You'd have to buy a new computer.

Did you mean Pro Tools? Yes, you'd need an iLok key to use version 7. For me the features of 7.0 and up have been worth the upgrade.
