    Canadian - Canucks

    from Wickipedia:
The term was coined in the 19th century, although its etymology is unclear. Possibilities include:
    • kanata1 "village" (See Canada)
    • Canada + -uc (Algonquian noun suffix)
    • Canada + -inuk (Inuit for "man")
    • Connaught, an obscure term for Irish-French-Canadians.
    • Cann-uck, a small yellow french canadian bird, much like woodstock from the peanuts cartoon.
(note: I'm rather leery of that last one, I've never, ever heard of that)

    Aussies - Australians
    Kiwis - New Zealanders

    Nutmeggers?

    Well, that's pretty strange.

Why on earth would they call us Connecticutians, Nutmeggers.

    Nut-makers, maybe...

    Re: Nicknames

Hmm, I grew up in CT and I've never heard anyone called a nutmegger, although we *are* the "Nutmeg State." Our license plates said "Constitution State" which I think most people prefer. Where I lived there was a lot of UCONN pride and people liked to be called Huskies.

Living in Baltimore now, sometimes people call us Baltimorons, but I'm not sure that one has caught on.

I lived in NYC for 4 years, and people mostly called each other "Hey A--hole"

    Re: Nicknames

We Garritonians live in a peaceful world of Garritonia, ruled by Gary Garritan and his co-dictator (to put it bluntly...), Tom Hopkins. Our great leader tells us stories of a giant, by the name of Native Instruments which refuses to release the power of next Kontakt upon the computers of this peaceful world. We Garritonians are sometimes pitted against one another, under the watchful eye of our great overlord, in competition to win the prize that awaits. All in all, we are a cheerful, friendly community of beings that exists nowhere else...

    ...

And where that came from, I don't know. But it has a nickname for us Garritan users in it...
