    "Monk Business"

    Strangeness Lovers,

This is a revisit to a fun thing that I wrote called "Monk Business".

This features a vocal technique called "throat singing", whereby Tibetan monks are able to sing incredibly low notes. I achieved this effect by using a plugin called "Delay Lama".

All of the strings are GPO.

    My best to all,

    Larry A.

    Larry,

I have never heard this one before. Every time you post... I get surprised. What are you using for the voice? Delay Lama for the effect. Is that like a regular delay? Anyway, This is sort of a departure from what I have heard from you in the past. You are normally so lively in your music. With a name like Monk Business I should not be surprised, this was very meditative. Very cool, Larry.

I won't make any bad jokes this time. Sorry about the weirdness last time. I meant no harm.

    attentively yours,
    Paul

The name "Delay Lama" has nothing to do with an actual audio delay. It's just a play on words.

The "voice" comes from the plugin itself. It's rather fun to work with.

    Thanks for listening.

I enjoyed this the first time, and glad to have it
back for another listen, Larry... some very nice
string work in it; and the Delay Lama is a great
sound. I've heard this technique (live) and it's
well captured, here, in this innovative piece.

Wow, what a gorgeous sound you create here. I listened to your arrangement of,' Misty ' on your web site and was equally blown away. You seem to have a real affinity for this style of music.
