    Bach - Trio Sonata I

    This transcription is of Bach's "Trio Sonata I in Eb-Major" for organ BWV 560 and is set here for string quartet. The three movements are as follows;

    Allegro Moderato

    Adagio

    Allegro

    The work is produced using Finale 2006 and GPO instruments; Gagliano Violin Plr 1 and Plr 2, Solo Viola and Solo Cello.

    This is my third transcription of Bach's Trio Sonatas that have been posted to this forum. The other two can be found at;

    These string transcriptions you've been doing
    so many of lately always come out great, Gary;
    and no exception, this set. Nice work!

    It's been a hectic day, and the Adagio particularly,
    that hit the spot.

    David,

    Thanks for listening and posting your comments. These Trio Sonatas are a natural fit for strings as it turns out. They are very likely find their origins in some of Bach's string works such as the Brandenburg Concertos. The Adagio is particullary nice I agree.
