Prince of Darkness by Sean Koch

Sean Koch has sent in his short fantasy piece called Prince of Darkness.

    Prince of Darkness
    http://www.garritan.com/mp3/SeanK-Pr...f_Darkness.mp3

It is based on his favorite fictional character IIdon. Sean realized this with GPO (first violins, second violins, violas, celli, double basses and english horn) in FL Studio.

Well done Sean. Thanks for sending this in.

Great job on this, Sean. The rich string
writing and the poignant intervention of
the English horn early on are quite effective
    in setting mood and color.

I hope you will think about developing this
    idea further!

I am unfamiliar with IIdon... What book or series of books did he(?) come from?

    Inquiring minds want to know!

I really did like the English horn part... very nice.

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Very nice work!

My kind of harmonic chord structure...

I definitely agree with David on Developing this further.

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. I'm really happy it went over well.

Ildon is a secondary character from an obscure little video game called Saga Frontier.

I modified the D minor scale by sharpening the F note to give it that exotic, dark and majestic feel, and then I built a chord progression off of that. Then I turned a simple arpeggio into a melody. Usually I don't make music this simple, so it was a little strange for me, but I'm really pretty proud of it. I'll definitely do more in the future.

Anyway, thanks for the comments, guys. I really am honored.
