    Adagio for Brass

Here is a piece I wrote for my brass group. It was inspired by the famous Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. I converted it to GPO using Finale 2006.

    Adagio for Brass

    I hope you enjoy listening.

Fine job on this... I can certainly hear Barber's influence.
There's an enticing meditative quality to the piece that I
    found most satisfying.

Do you have a recording of the performance? I'd love to
hear the live version... gotta be sweet.

Yes I have one somewhere. I'll have to dig it up. It sounds better live.

Good work. Would like to hear the live recording also... Great flow... Sounds very organ like. Not sure if that is b/c of your writing of the GPO... but I like it.

Very fine writing for brass. I like the nice bass supporting sounds underneith it all. You must have a really fine brass group to work with.

Thanks all. Yes, I play with a very fine group.

I will take a listen Gary. We are always looking for new (good) material.

I find Finale with GPO difficult to generate a true brass sound. I don't have all the whistles and bells to midi the arrangement and them convert to GPO. But Finale/GPO does get the point accross.

    Thanks all for listening.

Sure. The instrumention is basically a normal Brass Sextet:

2 trumpets, 2 horns, trombone and bass trombone (instead of tuba)
