Pops caused by wireless network card

    Hi all,

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my audio set up: I have a Audiophile 2496 connected to my hi-fi via a 2xRCA cable. I've had this set up working fine for a good few months. However, since moving my PC back onto my wireless internet connection at home the speakers pop every 5 or 10 seconds. When I disable the wireless card via the icon in the systray the pop disappears. Re-enable it and, guess what, the pop comes back!

This isn't a problem when I'm composing because I can always disable my internet. However, I like to listen to mp3s whilst surfing the net, and it's not great having them pop every few seconds.

Any suggestions as to how to solve this annoying problem are appreciated.

    Thanks
    Rob

I think that you may find that the best way is not to use a wireless connection.

Thanks, but that's not really an option for me.

Check to see if the wireless card and the audiophile are sharing the same IRQ. If so, move the cards into different slots.
