    Happy Solstice, Everybody!

Today marks the summer solstice, at least here in the northern hemisphere. It is the longest day of the year--the sun rises earliest, and sets latest, on this day of the year. From here on in, the days start getting shorterr for us.

There was even a solstice parade here (darn, I missed it!)

You solar geeks will probably enjoy this article on the summer solstice.

Enjoy this very long night safe in the knowledge that the sun will return tomorrow.

    Crystals,
    Herbs, (Hehe)
    Magic Stones,
Sacrifical maidens (in a manner of speaking)
    Cider,
    Model of Stonehenge,
    Plastic pentagram,
Deck of cards if things are little slow getting though to the gods,

Toga for a Druid?--- Surely you jest.

In Arizona where it is 106 degrees daily --this is an important day as it should (but usually doesn't) mark the end of progressivelly hotter days.

Happy to oblige. I've got a quite nice one in chartreuse, with
very attractive rhinestone trim and plunging neckline. You're welcome
to use it if you dryclean it after the, uh, well, "special ceremony" with
the sharp knife and the screaming and all that.

I'm fresh out of sacrificial virgins, however -- so you're on your
    own for that. Try Wal-Mart.

    Happy Solstice indeed.
We had friends round for food , drinks, and a bonfire.
Sadly since those spoil-sport Romans were running the place, Human Sacrafice has been out of the question. I just hope our vinous libations will be enough to persuade the sun to come out tomorrow.

    regards Joe

    It's awful dark here, Joe.

    I'm really growing concerned.

Hmmmmm..... that does sound a bit worrying.

Well, as I understand it New England is a Roman free zone, so round up some red-headed twins, a few criminals,........... if you cant find any criminals, just round up anyone who seems sceptical of your Druid-Swami abilities, that girl in the 10th grade who spurned your advances, communists (naturally)......... and dispose of in the usual manner.
If that doesnt work, repeat, until there's virtually no-one left in New England.
Yes, indeed, the old ways are the best.

    regards Joe.

ps. the King of the Druids lives around here, he can often be seen wandering around the Lanes with a big Walking stick/wand thingy.
I had a friend who was a druid, and his special magic powers seemed to largely consist of consuming enormous amounts of ecstasy and pot.
    Darned good Tree Surgeon though.
