Lead Solo Violin Gold vs ?

    Hi All,

For those that work with EW Gold's lead solo violin, I like the dynamics of attack, expression, fade, but depending on playing style and registers, it can fall short - llikely due more my composing/inability to tweak issues than the instrument. Anything similar but an alternative choice to try?

    Thanks,
    Joanne

    Eric,

I do also have the need for a more contemporary upfront sound like the strad on some other work. I think I can simply buy the strad as a standalone with its own player?

    Thanks

    Joanne,
There will soon be a standalone version of the Stradivari with its own player, along with new patches and new features.

Ditto on the Strad. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the Kontakt 2 Player version to come out. I hope they hurry too... I got vacation time coming up.

I've got Gold ... and then I got KH Emerald.

I like the solo violin much better in Emerald. It's more woody sounding, much easier for me to play accurately, and it's possible ~for me~ to play very fast runs with it, which I found very frustrating ~for me~ to do with the one in Gold.

All above is just one mans subjective perception. :-)

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I had forgotten all about the KH solo violin.

    Hey Gary,

If I don't have K2, what are my options for your solo violin as a stand alone buy?
