    'Decision Time' by Barry Bignold

Barrie recently finished scoring for a film. One of the pieces is a beautiful piece he wrote featuring the JABB soprano sax.

    Here is the link:

Very nicely done Barrie and excellent work with the soprano sax. You really made the sax sing.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

    Barrie... gorgeous work.

That sax is like silk, and the mix is like satin.

    Give us more, my friend!

    All my best,

    Barry,

WOW....really wonderful work and lush sounds. Gary G is right, you did well with the soprano sax, and lovely guitar too. Must be a great movie in the making!

Beautiful, just beautiful. I only wish it were ten times longer.

Nice job, Mr. Bignold. Let us hear more of your fine work.

Gary, Gary, Larry, and ......er.... David!

thank you so much for your encouraging comments - I'm still enjoying raiding the JABB toolbox - must do a Big Band number soon..!

If anybody is interested, I noticed a bad smell coming from the back of my 'Power Profile Player', so I chucked everything out and restocked it today.

The 'Decision Time' cue is from a TV film about a Kurd who escaped Iraq under Saddam after being pointlessly tortured as a teenager. It's a personal story and follows two trips back to Kurdistan since Saddam's downfall, and the plight of the Kurds who have been kind of forgotten yet again in all the mayhem.
I didn't want to do 'travelogue' stylee music, and suddenly realised that the sop sax is probably as exotic sounding to a middle eastern audience as it is to a western one with out being specific to either. The sax generally represents some sort of inner dialogue in the film.

    regards to all

I just heard that 'Return To Kirkuk' (which this track comes from) is getting it's first outing on Al Jazeera before showing on Channel 4 in the UK. This is a first for me!
I'm so glad I used the Sop Sax and not a ney flute!
