Bach's "Sinfonia to Cantata 29" from Gary Bricault

    Bach's "Sinfonia to Cantata 29

Here is a really nice GPO rendering from Finale 2006 on Bach's "Sinfonia to Cantata 29".

The mix is; 3 Trpts, 3 Oboes, 2 Violin sections, Viola Section, Cello, Harpsichord, Pipe Organ (Baroque Plenum) and Timpani.

Gary had the pleasure of hearing the real thing in Europe and had a good reference.

A great baroque sound with the trumpet and the pipe organ rendition was just grand.

Thanks again Gary for sending in another masterpiece.

Fine job on this, Gary... a strong, energetic interpretation.

S.C.29 is one of my favorites (well, then again, probably
nine-tenths of Bach falls into that category... lol).

    Best,

    Gary,
Nice work on this great Bach Sinfonia. It is a personal favorite of mine and I never tire of it. If I could offer one suggestion...I think this piece would benefit from a thicker, church-like reverb. You might look into an Impulse Response reverb such as SIR. Good reverb does wonders for GPO.

Never look at the trombones. It only encourages them. Richard Strauss
