GS Jazz Doublebass instrument - anyone?

    Hi,

I'm new to the world of GigaStudio, and also to new to the world of sampled instrument, but I've always wanted to get my hands on a really good sampled doublebass for a jazzy sound, but I can't seem to find any.

Does anyone of you guys in here know where I might be able to find this sort of thing?

Also I really good sampled jazz-kit with brush-samples and all, would be welcomed.

    Cheers!
    Thomas

These 2 are the only ones i know but i know there are more. I heard Bardstown audio has one, not sure.

Here is a free jazz kit in battery format(i hear it can be import in Kontakt 2)http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...ad.php?t=44068

Also, i hear Sonic Implants has a $25 brush kit for download( must be in giga format i guess).

If your serious about drums, Scearbee Imperial drums is probably best drum you can get on the market and it has a very complete jazz kit. I love that baby! Could be in halion fformat i'm not sure, and you can get it in a virtual instrument directly in your sequencer for confort...cheak it out, it's big!!!

I was independently wondering whether anyone could offer some words of comparison between the Dan Dean and Seyer upright basses.

Thanks for starting this thread -- hopefully we'll get some good responses!

Maybe it would be better to ask this question in the Sample library Discussion, i think you would have more answers there... I'm also interested in this thread.

The only acoustic bass i know is the one that came with Majestic from yellowTools, it's a 100 year old bass and i don't think I'll need an other one soon.... Still interested to hear about other libs....

I use the pizz bass from Kirk Hunter's Solo Strings for laid back jazz. It has pizz, pizz mute, and slides up and down.

Larry Seyer's bass (I don't own it, but GS2.5 came with a demo gig) is the other end of the spectrum. It's very aggressive and would work well where the bass needs to stand out from the crowd.

Somebody released a gut string bass a while ago that has a nice vintage sound, but the developer escapes me right now...

I'll just like to thank everyone for your kind an constructive feedback.

Sorry for the kind of wrong posting - I found this forum through a link, and had not yet realized that it was a sub forum... stupid me!

Looks like there aren't many sampled jazz basses out there, but there's a few interesting choises.

    Thanks!
    Thomas
