Garritanīs Jazz Big Band: I could need some advice

I recently sold some of my VSTi and got some cash to spend

May armatory is still lacking some decent brass (Iīm more in the acoustic business like french style chansons and acoustic pop music) and drums played with brushs and mallets (meaning: not the hardrock style of drums). For the drums I thought about extending my BFD with the Jazz & Funk extension which has brush strokes as well as mallet strokes but realised that for about the same price I could get Garritanīs JBB.

So how is the playability of the library? Iīm not a very talented tweaker, I mainly play live and try to avoid too much editing. Is JBB any good for this purpose? Are the brasses and drums worth buying the library?
Iīll do another check of the demos tonight but still could need some real userīs experiences.
Thanks very much for any input regarding this topic

    Hey Raindog

For drums played with brushs and mallets, I would go for the full ns_kit7.
    Excellent and not very expensive.

+ lots of demos of individual kit pieces

Thanks very much for the tip. Sounds drumwise what Iīm looking for (drums played with mallets, brushes as well as snares without floor). Iīll have a listen to the demos

I think it would be possible to write one that would make a pretty good live instrument out of JABB.

Thanks for your very helpful comment. I listened to the demos yesterday evening and I must say that they are quite heterogeneous. Some sounds are just outstanding some do sound very "workstation-like". It may be tough though to find convincing brasses, especially saxes. Maybe Iīll check some other brass libraries as well.

Listened to the demos and ordered it right away. Just what I was expecting drum-wise. Thanks again for pointing this out
